Prevent roof leaks, blockages and broken gutters with our commercial gutter cleaning services. Helping businesses across London, Surrey and the South East since 2010.
At Prestige External Cleaning we have been offering our commercial gutter cleaning services for over 15 years. We have specialist equipment including carbon fibre vacuums, HD cameras, and a cherry picker and scissor lift, to inspect and clean the gutters on any commercial building.
Over time, gutters accumulate leaves, moss, twigs and other debris. This build-up happens quicker on commercial buildings with low-pitched or flat roofs, or that have wide or box-style gutter systems. This can block your business’s drainage systems, and cause leaks and structural damage, leading to costly repairs. At Prestige, we are fully insured, and IPAF and PASMA certified to use our cherry picker and scissor lift to ensure your gutters are left clear. We also always check the levelling to ensure smooth water flow.

We check your gutters, downpipes, using our HD cameras where necessary to identify blockages and any damage before we start cleaning. If any major damage is discovered, we will report it and advise on next steps.
We assess the height of your gutters and the layout of your property to establish a safe and efficient cleaning plan.
We clear leaves, moss, twigs, and other natural and artificial debris from your gutters, using our cherry picker and scissor lift to access gutters that are high-up. Where the carbon fibre vacuums aren’t enough, we get stuck in using brushes to ensure a complete clean.
We also clear downpipes by hand to ensure that water flows properly through your drainage system.
Included in our commercial gutter cleaning service is any minor repairs to your gutters: reclipping sections, fixing leaking joints, correcting downpipe misalignment and levelling the gutters properly.
After making minor repairs, we flush the system with water to check that the drainage system is working as it should be.
We inspect our work, taking plenty of photos for you to review. We don’t leave unless you are happy with our work.
Leaks directly from your gutters or staining on the fascias and soffits are a sign that the gutters and downpipes aren’t draining properly. This is probably caused by an accumulation of debris blocking the downpipes.
If you can see debris building up in the gutters or downpipes, then it's time for a clean. You may also notice that rainwater collection units aren’t filling at their normal rate.
Especially for older buildings, and buildings that use PVC gutters, signs of sagging indicate that an accumulation of debris is putting stress on the gutters.
Pests use the build-up of moss, leaves, twigs, and other natural debris to create nests in the gutters, which can also put stress on the gutters. Removing the debris stops them from nesting.
Commercial buildings that have low-pitched roofs constructed from sheet steel or aluminium have a slower run-off. If gutters are blocked, this slow run-off increases the likelihood of standing water and leaks through to the interior of the building.
It is common for commercial and industrial buildings to have gutters manufactured from galvanised steel. Galvanised steel will start to rust when it is exposed to standing water and debris for too long. Corrosion significantly weakens the gutters and if it isn’t treated quickly, the gutters will bend, buckle, and eventually break.

Everything you need to know before booking your exterior clean.
Once in the early Spring to clear Winter debris and prepare for a rainy April/May, and once in the Autumn for fallen leaves and other debris. If debris is not cleared for the Winter, standing water can accumulate and freeze, which puts even more strain on the gutters. It does also depend on the size and pitch of the roof, and the proximity of the building to trees, which will require cleaning more often.
Gutter cleaning is often neglected as you can’t always see blockages from the ground. It is often done reactively which is a mistake. A maintenance plan can save you from costly repairs.
